Something is Missing and so is My Little Boy

Can you tell what is missing? Cole lost his first tooth yesterday and now he is officially NOT a little boy. He has been telling me for a while now that he is not a baby anymore but now this just seals the deal. He has waited a long time to get on the "Lost Tooth" chart at school and he finally made it. You would have thought that he just got his first chest hair. It means a lot to make it on that chart!! Only one more boy to loose a tooth and school isn't even out yet! I wish that was all I had to worry about. To be young again....and by the way now I REALLY feel OLD!

Here he is checking himself out in the mirror. It all starts with the lost tooth, then I guess it will be zits next...although he has already been experimenting with new hair styles.

Here Cole is posing with my Tooth Fairy pillow. It is one of the few things I still have from my childhood so it feels really good to have my Son be able to use it. He actually was very excited to put his tooth in the little pocket and then he placed it under his pillow to wait for the "dough".

This was this morning after the Tooth Fairy left. I think he was expecting more but with the "economy" the way it is the Tooth Fairy had to "cut back"!!

The Beginnings of a Tree House

Rob has decided to build Cole a tree house and while it is technically a "house" it will not be in a tree. It will be "one with the tree limbs" though. We just didn't want to risk hurting our big beautiful oak tree so Rob is building it underneath it. Cole really wants him to connect it to his play scape so that may come at a later date. Our entire property is like a big rock pile so it has taken a while due to Rob hitting nothing but rock when he was digging the holes. I hope now it can take off and Cole can be in it by Summer. I need it up by the Summer for my sanity!! I am documenting the progress so here is what he has done so far.

Treasures Around The Corner

These are some other pictures I took in Ms. Winnie's yard. I could post a million pictures of all the beautiful treasures in her yard. The windmill is my favorite and check out her babies. I can't wait to go back and take some more!!

Bluebonnet Time

We wanted to take Cole and Kylie's picture in the Bluebonnets so our neighbor, Ms. Winnie graciously let us have a photo shoot in her beautiful yard. It was so nice to be able to just walk down the street rather than have to park on the side of the highway somewhere. What made it even better was the tour we got of Ms. Winnie's yard. She showed us all of her flowers, waterfalls and caterpillars she is raising. We had a great time and actually learned something in the process. Here are some shots I took. Thanks Ms. Winnie!!

7 Months Old

Our little girl turned 7 months old last week. She has grown so much and is changing every day. I take a monthly picture of her to document her growth and to have a way to look back and see how much she has changed. This month was the hardest "photo shoot". I couldn't get her to look at the camera, smile, stay in one spot and she was determined to eat that red piece of paper!! This was the best picture I could get but that is okay she is still cute and we love her very much. Check out her pictures from previous months here and here. Here are seven fun facts about our growing little girl.
  1. She still LOVES her paci and has now learned to put it back in her mouth..sometimes sideways.
  2. She may not weigh very much but she has the fatest thighs I have ever seen. They require Desitin.
  3. She has been saying "Mama" since she was 5 months and that makes "Mama" very happy.
  4. She has many tricks using her tongue and we wonder if Gene Simmons may be in our family tree.
  5. She will only giggle for Cole and at this point still adores him. She lights up when he comes around.
  6. She loves SLEEP!!! She still takes 3 naps and sleeps through the night!! Lets hope she keeps it up.
  7. She is very good at imitating motorboats and cars. She may be a tomboy after all.

Crush

Another funny brought to you by Cole

The past couple of days Cole has mentioned a Teacher at School that I had never heard of and he even asked to invite her to Bridge Day. Tonight he stated matter of fact "Ms. Hahn has a crush on me." Now while I am dying inside with laughter, fear and feelings of needing to call his Dad I manage to keep my composure to ask him how he knows Ms. Hahn has a crush on him? He said that every time his class walks by her class and he tells her Hello she says "Hi Sweetie" and that really embarrasses him so that is how he knows she has a crush on him. WOW....should I be worried? It was bad enough when I found a Kindergarten girl's phone number in his pack and he asked to have a phone in his room but now he has moved up considerably and he is only FIVE oh, wait, sorry FIVE 1/2!!
And just because I was curious about this Ms. Hahn, I had Cole show me a picture of her in the Faculty photo...let's just say my boy has good taste..he must get that from his Father!!

"You Can Be A Recycling SuperHero"

So my son has a new obsession......recycling! Ever since Captain Can (who would have thought to put tights on a can) came to his school to teach about recycling Cole has been obsessed. Now I admit recycling is something we don't do...I know we should..But we don't... (until now). He is always telling me to not throw away certain things and that we should recycle them. The funniest thing is that this week each time I opened up his lunch kit after school I found "trash" that was not something I sent with him. A Styrofoam cup, empty Popsicle wrapper, fruit snack wrapper, etc..you get the point. When I finally asked him about it he said he brought it home so we could recycle it. I told him that the school recycles. When you go to throw away your trash there is a lady there that seems to be recycling things. He stated "No way someone throwed up in there, we can't recycle it after that." I guess I will make a call tomorrow about getting a recycling bin!!

Another funny tonight was when I was clipping his incredibly long toenails he stated "No don't clip them I want to keep them so I can climb trees." His Dad really needs to stop making those kind of jokes!!

Smarter Than A Fifth Grader

So today Cole was telling me that his teacher told him that you can eat Sunflowers but not to ever do it because it might be a weed that you think is a Sunflower. He then said that if you ate the weed it could get stuck to your lungs and you would have to go to the Hospital. I asked him if his teacher told him that also and he stated "No I am just smart....I'm like smarter than a fifth grader!" He is too funny...sometimes I think he is smarter than a fifth grader!
