"You Can Be A Recycling SuperHero"
So my son has a new obsession......recycling! Ever since Captain Can (who would have thought to put tights on a can) came to his school to teach about recycling Cole has been obsessed. Now I admit recycling is something we don't do...I know we should..But we don't... (until now). He is always telling me to not throw away certain things and that we should recycle them. The funniest thing is that this week each time I opened up his lunch kit after school I found "trash" that was not something I sent with him. A Styrofoam cup, empty Popsicle wrapper, fruit snack wrapper, etc..you get the point. When I finally asked him about it he said he brought it home so we could recycle it. I told him that the school recycles. When you go to throw away your trash there is a lady there that seems to be recycling things. He stated "No way someone throwed up in there, we can't recycle it after that." I guess I will make a call tomorrow about getting a recycling bin!!
Another funny tonight was when I was clipping his incredibly long toenails he stated "No don't clip them I want to keep them so I can climb trees." His Dad really needs to stop making those kind of jokes!!

Smarter Than A Fifth Grader
So today Cole was telling me that his teacher told him that you can eat Sunflowers but not to ever do it because it might be a weed that you think is a Sunflower. He then said that if you ate the weed it could get stuck to your lungs and you would have to go to the Hospital. I asked him if his teacher told him that also and he stated "No I am just smart....I'm like smarter than a fifth grader!" He is too funny...sometimes I think he is smarter than a fifth grader!

Lots of Firsts
Since Kylie has turned 6 months old she has embarked on a lot of firsts. After taking her in for her check-up, the Dr. said we can slowly change some things that we have been doing for her Acid Reflux. The first thing we did was let her sleep in her bed like a normal baby. No more Acid Reflux Pillow! The first time I put her down for a nap she only slept 45 minutes compared to her 3 hour marathon. The most important thing however was that she did not cry!!! Here is a picture of her when she was strapped to her pillow and then a picture I took of her when she was sleeping "flat" like a normal little baby.
Here a some pictures of Kylie's first time to eat real food. She wasn't as excited as I thought she would be since she is always staring at our food. I know soon enough she will be digging in!! She first had rice cereal and thought that was just okay. She then tried squash and from her expression in the picture you can tell she was not impressed. Since then she had moved on to carrots. No need to take a picture of that because she had the same expression as with squash. Maybe she like fruit better!!

Still Little
Well I took Kylie in for her 6 month check-up and was very excited to see what her weight was. I thought she had gained quite a bit but to my surprise she had not. She had gained enough to satisfy the Doctor but she is still in the 10% and the 25% for her height. She is doing very well and is healthy otherwise she is just going to be a little girl. Here are her stats for 6 months. Remember you can look back at Kylie's monthly pictures in the February archive.
Here she is getting an oral vaccination from her super awesome nurse, Kris. She has no problem taking oral medicine since she gets it twice a day. When she sees us coming with it she gets excited because we give her a bottle right after.
I know I am a terrible for taking this. Obviously this is right after 3 terrible shots!! She is like Cole was though she only cries for a little while and then she in fine. She does however run a low grade fever later on.

Our little girl is 6 months old today. Where has the time gone? Tomorrow she goes to the Dr. for her 6 month check-up so I will post that and pictures to celebrate the milestone. I just wanted to make note of this special day. Our baby is growing up.
